Introduction

The TOEFL is an English proficiency test designed to assess your reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. It is accepted by 12,500+ universities in more than 160 countries. It is the premier test of academic English communication. It is developed by ETS (Educational Testing Service), the American testing service at Princeton University.

The TOEFL has four test sections: Speaking, Listening, Writing, and Reading. All exams last no more than 4.5 hours without any breaks. TOEFL allows you to take notes during the exams.

It is a computer (CBT), online (iBT), and paper (PBT)-based exam, while the TOEFL iBT has replaced the CBT exam.

Score validity is 2 years.

Types of TOFEL:

There are two types of TOFEL: iBT , iBT home edition and paper edition.

iBT is globally available. Paper edition is available in Colombia, India, Mexico, and the United States. A new TOEFL test, named TOEFL Essentials, has been introduced. It is similar to the iBT test except it is shorter in duration and tests the general understanding of English. It is gaining popularity, and over 500 universities accept it.
